Notes for the World

Hello,
Let me start by introducing myself, I am a Fine Art student at the University of Wales, Newport. I am in my final year and like most 3rd year Fine Art students I am trying to create a piece of art that will change the world.

My general idea is wanting to display a small piece of myself within my work by exploring how notes can affect people (I am a firm believer that everyone loves a good note), and in a quest for world happiness I set off writing note after note of happiness and well wishes and distributing them everywhere around Cardiff ... from cars and pub toilets to post boxes and the little button you press if you want to cross the road.

I love the idea (albeit perhaps slightly optimistic) that people will find these notes and feel, slightly joyful that someone would leave such a pleasant token of happiness and therefore continue to distribute this happiness to the people they come by that day, putting them in a good mood also, and continuing this everlasting cycle of happiness, perhaps even in note form.

On each note I left an email address (thenoteproject@gmail.com) in the hope that the receivers of said notes would contact me with thanks and praises ... and to my surprise I actually received a couple of emails (literally ... 2), perhaps Cardiff is not open to such wishes of well being .. however I am continuing to expand and develop this idea into something that will no doubt make the world a slightly happier place.
